BCC through to National Club Championship Final! Print E-mail

BCC has defeated THCC Rot-Gelb in Hamburg on Sunday to secure a spot in the national club championship final for the first time ever in the club's 25 year history.

Luke Buchanan scored his maiden hundred for the club while Aaron Mato contributed a quickfire 77, in what is believed to be the highest total ever for BCC. After scoring 350 for 8 batting first, BCC then dismissed THCC for 143 in reply. In the field Volker Ellerbeck grabbed "4 for" with his medium pace, while Reuben Davies and Zafar Shakoor both got 2 wickets each.

A week earlier in Berlin, BCC defeated Düsseldorf Blackcaps in the other northern region playoff. BCC will now play the winner of the Olympia Frankfurt and Munich International game, taking place in the southern region.

BCC are 2010 Bundesliga Ost Champions Print E-mail

BCC 1 have won the Bundesliga Ost competition for the second time in the club's history, following a commanding win over Dresden CC in their final match of the season on Saturday.

Reuben Davies' team scored 289 for 7 in 50 overs batting first. Top performances came from Amer Rafiq (49) und Luke Buchanan (34) at the start of the innings - thereafter Aaron Mato (60), Reuben Davies (45) and Nick Baker-Monteys (38) all made important contributions. In reply Dresden made just 78 - the wickets were well shared amongst the bowlers. The victory was characteristic of the team's strong performances throughout the season: BCC 1 lost only one game this season, narrowly beaten by DSSC.

It was a successful weekend for the club, with BCC 2 also winning against Viktoria 89 on Sunday at Körnerplatz. Stand out batsman was Nisarg Paja who scored a crucial half century, in the team's fourth victory of the season.

BCC 1 will now progress on to the Vereinsmeisterschaft, playing the winners from the NRW region on August 29 and the winners from NDCV on September 6. We wish Reuben and his team all the best in their campaign to become the best club team in Germany.
 
BCC's Leonard Gerhards at European U17 Championships Print E-mail

BCC's Leonard Gerhards was busy representing Germany at the ICC European Under 17 Championships this last week on the Isle of Man.

Playing in all five of Germany's matches, Leonard returned some good figures at the bowling crease picking up two wickets both against Switzerland and Spain.

Germany finished seventh in the tournament out of 10 teams.
